XLS Medical Carb Blocker is a diet supplement that is geared at individuals who are trying to lose weight but who find it very difficult to be able to keep their intake of foods that are high in carbohydrates under control. This includes people who want to be able to eat pasta, rice, bread, potatoes, and other high carb foods in larger quantities.

This product is made in Europe. At the time of the writing of this review, a supply for one month would cost a dieter £51.51, which is quite pricey, particularly when compared with other products that contain similar ingredients within their formulations. Though there is some clinical evidence to support the claims that are made by the product’s manufacturers, they are very limited, which makes it difficult to justify such a high price tag.

The manufacturer, Omega Pharma, is based in Belgium. This company is a large one and it boasts a very positive reputation. It is also a very well known company after having its Quickstep pro cycling team competing within the Tour de France, including the celebrity cyclist, Mark Cavendish.

Each bottle contains 60 capsules, which lasts a startlingly small amount of time, 10 days, as the product needs to be taken at a rate of six capsules per day. The claims made about XLS Medical Carb Blocker – which is the newest product in the XLS lineup at the time of this review – are that it will help to shrink the body’s ability to absorb carbs, effectively negating some of their calories as they will pass through (and out of) the body with the rest of its waste.

The product is based on a patented ingredient called Phaselite, which is a derivative of the common bean called phaseolus vulgaris. This is a natural bean fiber which is manufactured by InQpharm, which is another pharmaceutical company. The substance is available only to the pharmaceutical industry and is the only active ingredient in XLS Medical Carb Blocker.

The manufacturer claims that it reduces the activity of the enzyme called alpha-amylase, which is responsible for metabolizing carbohydrates. Without as much of the enzyme, fewer carbs are absorbed by the body.

It should be noted that the official website does not reveal the amount of the substance within each pill and does not show that studies have proven that this amount is adequate to lead to any measurable amount of weight loss. In fact, the evidence that the substance works, at all, is very limited.
