Nature’s Garden Cayenne Capsules are a dietary supplement that is made by a company from the U.K. and that are sold through the large British retailer, Holland & Barrett. The product is meant to provide people with an affordable source of capsaicin, which is the substance found in hot peppers that makes them taste spicy.

Capsaicin has also been associated with an effect that promotes faster fat burning in the body by way of increased thermogenesis. That is the process in the body by which the body produces heat. This body heat requires fuel which is provided through food that the user has consumed or stored fat on that individual’s body. When thermogenesis is increased, the body temperature rises and more fuel is required to keep it that way.

When people eat spicy food, the capsaicin can cause them to warm up to such a degree that they will actually sweat. It is that effect that taking cayenne capsules is supposed to produce. Therefore, when Nature’s Garden Cayenne Capsules are taken ahead of a workout or a meal, it could help to accelerate the metabolism so that the workout will be more effective and the meal will be digested and burned off more quickly and effectively.

Many people turn to this effect to be able to enjoy the advantages of a fat burner without having to take stimulants. The reason is that while many people can comfortably use stimulants, there are some who are sensitive to their effects, causing them to experience side effects. So by using capsaicin instead of stimulants, they aim to boost their fat burning rate, stimulant-free.

There are some drawbacks that have been identified when it comes to choosing this product over some other diet pills that are currently on the market. Primary among them is that capsaicin is the only active ingredient in Nature’s Garden Cayenne Capsules. Therefore, it isn’t necessarily an exceptionally powerful pill for producing weight loss. Moreover, while there has been some research that has shown that capsaicin can speed up fat burning, it has yet to prove that this process is powerful enough to actually generate measurable weight loss. It’s one thing to burn more fat, but it’s another thing to burn enough to actually make a difference.

Finally, some dieters have posted reviews about this product, indicating that it is important to take it with food, as they have experienced a burning sensation from the capsaicin when they have taken it on an empty stomach.

GNC Total Lean Advanced Metabolic Elite is an over the counter weight loss supplement made by the large American retailer, GNC. This company is known for the many ranges of vitamins, supplements, and other types of sports and other types of nutrition aids. This product is meant to work as a thermogenic enhancer that is a “fast-acting metabolism supercharger”, according to the product package.

Unfortunately, in terms of official sources of information, the only info that could be found about GNC Total Lean Advanced Metabolic Elite was the package, itself, as the product details were not available to view on the official webpage for the product on the GNC website at the time of the writing of this review. The package also claims that this product is “clinically proven to burn 6x more calories,” though it doesn’t say specifically what the basis for comparison is. It may be 6 times more than the individual’s usual rate of fat burning.

The official website does not provide a list of ingredients for this product, so third party websites were consulted in order to obtain that information. The ingredients that make up the formula at the time of this review include: niacin, the 6x Clinical Burn Blend (which includes mucuna pruriens seed extract, ginger root extract, boswellia serrata gum extract, Capsimax (capsaicin), cinnamon bark extract and piper longum fruit extract), the Botanical Rush Blend (which includes green coffee bean extract, rocket plant leaf extract and chicory root extract) and the Mind/Body Matrix (which includes reishi mushroom powder and cordyceps sinesis extract).

Upon searching through databases of medical journals, none of the ingredients within this product were found to have a significant body of evidence to suggest that they were directly linked to weight loss. In fact, there are some ingredients – such as green coffee bean extract – that do have some research, but that is quite conflicting in terms of its results. While some limited preliminary studies state that it is worthy of additional research, others say that its side effects negate any potential benefits that it has to offer. Moreover, the primary study that has been used to defend its use has since been found to have been conducted using flawed methods.

As a result of the lack of research and the fact that it is a part of a category in which there is a considerable amount of competition, providing many alternatives to dieters, it is difficult to recommend this product.
