Lipodrene Hardcore With Ephedra ReviewLipodrene Hardcore with Ephedra is a nonprescription weight loss supplement that markets itself as being the only product containing ephedra extract that is legal in all 50 states. It states that it contains 25 milligrams of a form of ephedra extract called Thermo-Z.

From the start, this should be seen as a red flag by dieters. Either Hi-Tech Pharma, the company behind Lipodrene Hardcore with Ephedra is being deceptive about containing actual ephedra extract and is, indeed, using a legal substance, or it is lying about the legality of its top ingredient.

The reason is the ephedra, ephedrine and their alkaloids have all been banned from use in weight loss supplements in the United States since 2004. Despite what many companies say about various forms of the ingredient or quantities, it is not legal for use in any quantity and has not been since that time. There have been large lawsuits filed in order to try to reverse this decision but they have not been successful.

This regulation also extended to adulterated versions of the ingredient and the FDA published specific guidance regarding that regulation in 2008. It states that “dietary supplements that contain ephedrine alkaloids are adulterated under section 402(f)(1)(A) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (21 U.S.C. 342(f)(1)(A)). It is illegal to market an adulterated dietary supplement.” Therefore, even if this product claims to contain an altered version of ephedra, it would still be marketing selling an illegal substance.

Alternately, the product does not contain ephedra, but trademarked Thermo-Z is made of something else, instead. That would mean that the company has lied on its nutrition label, on which it specifically lists 25 milligrams of ephedra leaf extract. While this may mean that the product is less dangerous to consumers – assuming that a safer alternative was used – it still does not make the company any more trustworthy because it has lied on its label.

Overall, any licensed doctor would not recommend the use of Lipodrene Hardcore with Ephedra because it claims to contain an illegal ingredient, though it pretends that its version of this ingredient is somehow legal.

The weight loss market is brimming with products that contain fully legal ingredients that don’t cause confusion or risk leading to potentially dangerous side effects like heart attack and stroke. It is recommended that any substance that appears dubious in any way – as in this case – be avoided in favor of one of the many others that are readily available.
