Medoslim is an over the counter diet pill that was created to assist individuals who are seeking additional help in being able to lose and manage their weight. The official webpage for this product claims that it uses fat binders and that it “burns fat reserves in stomach, bottom, and thighs”. It also promises that the user will experience a delay in cravings recurrences.

The official webpage for the product, on the Tower Health (Medi-Direct International Ltd.) website did not provide a complete list of ingredients for the product at the time that this review was written. However, it did identify prickly pear as its main ingredient. This leaves the dieter to assume that the only active substance in this product is prickly pear. However, the description of the product also commonly refers to “ingredients”, that is, the pluralized version of the word. This would suggest that there are other active ingredients that have not been identified on the site.

That makes it very difficult for a consumer to try to understand the product and whether or not it may be appropriate or safe for use. A dieter can’t use that site to check to see if it contains any substances to which he or she may be allergic, and it makes it impossible to research whether or not there have been any large, reputable studies to support the use of the various components of the formula for weight loss.

Without being able to understand what is actually contained within Medoslim, the next resource available to understand whether or not this product may potentially work is through customer reviews. Unfortunately, on both the official webpage and on other websites that sell this product, there are mixed reviews, so it is difficult to know whether or not people are actually happy with what they have experienced. It looks as though there are just as many people who are pleased with the product as there are those who are unhappy with it.

Among the main complaints that users have shared about Medoslim is that they feel that its price is too high to make it worthwhile. At the time of this review it wasn’t possible to buy a single bottle on the website, as there was a 2-for-1 sale running. It showed that the usual price for the product was £49.99 (nearly $80, at the time of this review). Depending on usage (which is based on goals and weight), one bottle could last for as little as 13 days.

Proactol Plus, now also called Proactol XS, is an over the counter weight loss supplement. It has marketed itself extensively throughout the internet and it does have its own official website. This has allowed it to include itself among the ranks of some of the top diet pills within the fat blocker category of the nonprescription diet supplement market. Though this does not necessarily mean that it has been proven to work, it does suggest that there is something about this product that is working in its favor, and that it may be worth looking into before making a purchase.

This type of product is also known as a fat binder. These pills have been made to contain ingredients that will adhere to the fat molecules found in food that has been consumed by the dieter. By bonding to them in that way, it makes the molecules too large for the body to be able to absorb them. Therefore, they remain undigested and leave the body with the rest of the waste.

The official website for Proactol Plus claims that this diet pill goes above and beyond fat binding and acts as an appetite suppressant, as well. At the time that this review was written, the claim was that these pills worked by reducing fats absorbed by the body in a method that has been “backed by over 40 studies”. That said, not one of those studies was actually identified on the website through a title, a name of the organization that conducted them, the journal in which they were published, how many participants there were, or even if placebos techniques were used. This renders the claim all but useless to someone considering this product, as those studies could have been conducted by the manufacturer, itself on tiny, non-representative groups of people.

The Proactol Plus appears to have undergone a change, over the last while. Though the original marketing for this product had discussed the merits of opuntia ficus indica as one of its ingredients, that substance doesn’t appear to be listed among the ingredients in the product, anymore. It seems that the formula is made up of chitosan (biopolymer N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and D-glucosamine) that has been extracted from aspergillus niger mycelium.

Unfortunately, according to the Mayo Clinic, that ingredient – while unlikely to be dangerous – has not been adequately studied to be able to make solid claims about its potential benefits in the form of a diet pill. This calls into question, once again, the value of the forty studies that this product mentions on its website.

Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite is a nonprescription weight loss pill that is among many with similar names by this brand. It claims to provide “powerful weight loss” through enhanced focus, energy, and “super-thermogenesis”.

As this product contains a high level of stimulants, it is a very good idea for dieters to speak with their doctors before beginning its use. It is not appropriate for everyone, and its stimulant content will cause many dieters to experience side effects such as nervousness, shakes and tremors, higher blood pressure, a rapid heartbeat, heart palpitations, sleep struggles, and others. To the credit of the manufacturer, this site does caution users that everyone has a different tolerance level to stimulants, so this product should be taken with care and it is not right for all dieters.

Though the marketing does not say so specifically, the wording and images on the official webpage suggest that it is meant primarily for male dieters. While the website claims to have conducted two studies on the ingredients within this formula, the lack of information about the study does not suggest that it was conducted by anyone outside of MuscleTech (the company behind the Hydroxycut brand) and it doesn’t identify the number of people who were involved, so it is unclear as to whether or not it was enough to show that it is both safe and effective.

The ingredients within the Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite formula include: caffeine anhydrous (270 mg), green coffee extract, coleus extract, L-theanine, cocoa extract, and yohimbe extract. There are stimulants in several of these ingredients and the amount of caffeine, alone, is already the equivalent to more than 2 cups of coffee. Considering that this is taken all at once instead of being sipped throughout the day, this indicates that there is a high chance that many dieters will, indeed, suffer from the types of side effects mentioned above.

That said, if taken in advance of a cardio workout, many dieters will be able to burn fat more quickly and easily than they would with exercise alone, and the added energy could give exercisers a boost to help them to power through workouts more effectively, without suffering from fatigue that could drain their motivation.

Therefore, for the dieters who have a high stimulant tolerance, this could be helpful alongside their cardio workouts. However, Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite should be taken with care in order to ensure that the benefits will outweigh potential drawbacks.

XLS Medical Direct Fat Binder is a nonprescription weight loss pill that is the second version of the company’s original pill of this nature, which was called XLS Medical Fat Binder. The new version of the product is considered to be quite similar to the original, except that this second form is meant to be more powerful than the first. Equally, it still advertises that it is “gentle on your system,” despite the fact that it is meant to be quite powerful.

From the outset, reading the opening descriptions of the product on the official XLS Medical website, it is clear that some of the claims could be considered to be a little bit iffy. For example, while it does state that it is gentle on the body, it justifies that claim by saying that this is because it is made up of a fat binder from an organic plant source and is therefore naturally well tolerated. As there are thousands of natural plants that could be dangerous or even fatal to take, claiming that a product is gentle just because it comes from an organic plant is quite the deceptive statement.

Finding the ingredients that make up the XLS Medical Direct Fat Binder formula is easy to do on the official website, as there is a section dedicated to the ingredients within their FAQ. That said, it lists the ingredient within these pills as being exclusively Litramine. This is essentially a patented form of opuntia ficus indica extract.

Though opuntia ficus indica has been studied, the research is made up of limited and preliminary studies, and the findings have been inconclusive, at best. While some have suggested that it could be effective enough to be worthy of studies with a larger number of participants, there have also been a few that have stated that the use of this supplement brought about no significant findings.

Among the most relevant studies was one that had only 125 participants (a reputable study that could be considered to be more trustworthy would involve thousands of subjects), some of which were given opuntia ficus indica, and others of which were given a placebo. Those taking Litramine lost an average of twice the weight of those in the placebo group. In rats, it has been found that there is over 15 percent more fat in the fecal matter when taking Litramine, meaning that it passed through the body undigested and did not contribute to calories absorbed into the body.

Though this is promising, it is far from proof. There is a great deal of research needed before this product could call itself scientifically or clinically proven in a way that would be acceptable within the medical community.

T6 Fat Incinerator is an over the counter diet capsule that is designed to help people to lose weight more quickly than they could on their own. It is a product that was designed to replace an older formula, which was called the T5 Fat Incinerator. Although this product is widely available on a number of large online retailer websites, it doesn’t appear as though it has its own official website or webpage created by the manufacturer.

As the product name indicates, these capsules are meant to help to boost the speed and ease of weight loss through the acceleration of fat burning. Unfortunately, at the time of this review, the ingredients list could not be found on any of the retailer websites that sell the product that were located, nor was it seen on any of the angles of the product packaging images. This makes it nearly impossible to tell whether or not the product will be beneficial in any way or if it will be safe for dieters to use.

Similarly, no scientific or clinical studies were mentioned on any of the third party sites discussing this product, which also does not provide much support for any decision to purchase T6 Fat Incinerator.

When looking at customer reviews, many of the postings made on retail websites do appear to be very enthusiastic and positive. However, when looking at sites that do not sell the product but that collect consumer comments on this type of product, it looks as though there is a consistent complaint about dizziness when using this product. There is also mention of side effects such as tingling feelings and a feeling of a “rush” and a pounding heart/heart palpitations. Among the customers who did lose weight while using this product, it is also clear that they were following intensive weight loss programs including both diet and exercise throughout that time. The results they saw were consistent with the type of weight loss that could be expected from those kinds of programs, alone, regardless of the use of a pill.

Many customers recommend drinking a lot of water while taking T6 Fat Incinerator, in order to prevent certain side effects, such as headaches, which seems to imply that there may be a diuretic among the ingredients, though this would be very difficult to determine without an ingredients list. Based on the other side effects that are listed, it is nearly certain that the bulk of the effects of this product are based on powerful stimulants.

Lotuslite Plus is a weight loss supplement that is manufactured by a company called Lotuslite LLC. At the time of this review, a complete website could be found in addition to a Facebook page and links to the places where the products can be purchased.

It has been labeled on those sites at being the “natural skinny pill”. The story that they have shared about Lotuslite Plus is that the product was created by individuals who had previously tried other nonprescription products and simply were not satisfied with what they had to offer. This product gave them everything that they found was lacking in those other diet pills. The website’s homepage features a picture of a number of average looking, attractive women who, the visitor can assume, make up the people who are behind the product.

Whether or not this is true, and whether Lotuslite Plus can actually safely help a dieter to lose weight requires further investigation into its formula and the ingredients that make it up. Among the more positive notes that can be made about these diet pills is that they are sold along with the support of the website, which provides a considerable amount of information in addition to resources such as a meal planner.

These diet pills are supposed to provide metabolism and energy boosting along with appetite suppression. The claim is that these benefits are produced by the following ingredients: lotus leaf, green tea, daikon seeds, and fu ling.

Lotus leaf is a plant that has undergone some clinical studies that have suggested that it does, indeed, provide some metabolic rate boosting while it also helps with breaking down fats while blocking new fats from being formed during digestion.

Green tea has also had scientific studies show that it is beneficial in helping with weight loss. This requires a very high dose of green tea every day in order to produce measurable results. At the time of this review, it could not be determined whether this product contained these high amounts of the substance. If so, it is known to contain enough caffeine to help to increase fat burning.

Daikon is a form of Chinese radish which helps in digestion but does not help with weight loss. At best, it can help to relieve bloating.

Fu ling is a diuretic that flushes fluids from the tissues. This is not considered to be a safe form of weight loss as it does not remove fat, only water, and places the dieter at risk of dehydration for only a few days’ worth of potential mild slimming.

Boots Fat Control is a diet pill that does not require a prescription to buy and that has gained a great deal of popularity just because it is under the highly trusted Boots brand, a well known shop in the United Kingdom. It is meant to function by cutting back on the amount of dietary fat that the body is able to absorb. The product is manufactured by Boots Pharmaceutical and is sold in the shops under that brand name as well as on its website.

This is only one of a number of different “control” products that have been out by the Boots brand. This has included pills meant for controlling a single element or combinations. For example, metabolism control, carb control, and fat control, among others. This specific pill doesn’t appear to be among the most popular weight loss pills that the manufacturer has created.

The official website allows for customers to leave reviews of products there and while there is record on other websites of the reviews having brought in only 2.5 stars of a possible five, that customer feedback has now been entirely removed from the Boots Fat Control page – which isn’t a very good sign.

At the same time, Boots Fat Control is notably cheaper than many similar products in the same category. It currently sells on the official website at a list price of £22.95, though at the time of this review, it was on sale for £18.39. Clearly there are opportunities to save money off the retail price. Unfortunately, there is only value in that savings if there is any benefit to these pills, and it isn’t clear whether or not that is true. Furthermore, the quantity of pills that need to be consumed is quite high.

The directions for this product are to take two to three of these diet pills after each average meal. Four tablets should be taken after a high fat meal. That said, a maximum of nine pills should be taken on any given day. This suggests that the package – as cheap as it is – may not last very long as there are only 60 pills in each box. If a dieter should take the maximum number of pills per day, then the whole package would last only 6 and a half days. This increases the monthly cost quite dramatically, to the point that these pills could be considered very expensive when used at that dose.

B-Slenda is a nonprescription weight loss product that claims to be an effective fat binder made out of natural ingredients. Its primary focus is – as its category suggests – to help a dieter to reduce the number of calories absorbed into the body through the fats that he or she eats in his or her food.

It aims to be able to help dieters to be able to lose weight without having to suffer from hunger pangs due to diets that are significantly lower in fat and calories. The entire product is centered around its main active ingredient, which is called FibrePrecise. The claim that the manufacturer has made about this product is that it will help dieters to be able to reduce the calories that they are absorbing without having to decrease the amount of foods that they are eating – particularly in the way that crash dieting would require.

To understand whether or not this product could actually live up to its promises, it is important to take a closer look at its formula as well as what studies have been done on those substances or on the product as a whole.

The claim by the manufacturer of B-Slenda, Pharma Nord, from the United Kingdom, is that the FibrePrecise ingredient will bind itself to fats that are consumed in food so that they will become too large to be absorbed by the body. This indicates that since it cannot be absorbed, it will simply pass harmlessly through the body with the rest of the waste. The substance is made up of a natural fiber that is found primarily in shellfish. It is what is known as a second generation fiber, which indicates that it will bind exclusively to fat and not to carbs, sugars, or alcohol, for example.

The official website of the product claims that this fat binder is so effective that it will reduce the number of grams of fat from a meal by up to 20 grams per consumed tablet. This would be the equivalent of up to about 180 calories per pill.

Unfortunately, at the time of this review, the official website made absolutely no mention of any clinical or scientific studies that would suggest that this ingredient is capable of performing what it claims to be able to do. This makes the product extremely hard to recommend, as any opinion regarding its efficacy would be based exclusively on the marketing literature.

The Vitabase Fat Blocker provides clear claims about what it says that it will provide to dieters. It states that it will assist in blocking the absorption and storage of fat, making it easier for a dieter to be able to lose weight. Moreover, it also claims that certain food sugars can also be blocked through the use of this product.

Though it claims that it is “Dr Passero Approved”, at the time of this review, it had not mentioned any specific clinical studies to support the claims of the entire formula or to indicate that any of the individual ingredients can provide the type of outcomes that it claims. That said, upon researching the main ingredients in the formula, it does look as though two of them might have some impact on weight loss. The problem is that the official website does not reveal how much of each ingredient is contained within the formula, so it is not possible to verify whether enough has been used in order to produce the potential benefits.

The main ingredients in the Vitabase Fat Blocker are: Vitamin C, Vitamin B2, Gymnema Sylvestre, Garcinia Cambogia and Chitosan. The vitamins in this formula are contained in low doses (for example, only 25 milligrams of Vitamin C), but they are not the main contributors to the formula. Vitamin C, for example, is a healthy antioxidant but it is not associated with any form of weight loss benefit. B vitamins are known to help to help with food metabolism and frequently passed through the body quite quickly so this may provide some benefit, in theory.

Gymnema sylvestre, assuming that it is used in an adequate quantity, could help to regulate blood glucose levels. This doesn’t directly lead to weight loss, but it can help to avoid blood glucose spikes and drops that often result in shaky motivation and food cravings. Chitosan is an ingredient that has some potential in this formula, if used properly, as it has been shown to have some appetite suppressing benefits in certain small, short-term studies. It is a type of fiber, and when taken with enough water, it can help to provide the body with a fuller feeling. Garcinia cambogia was once considered to be a very powerful fat burner. It acts as a stimulant which can help to shrink the appetite. The problem is that it needs to be taken in massive quantities to be effective, as it is weaker than regular caffeine.

The Accuslim Fat Blocker is marketed as a diet supplement that gives you the ability to eat what you want without having to feel guilty. The official website for the product explains that fiber is the central element that should be considered for stopping the body from absorbing excess fat. It stated that fat becomes trapped before it can be taken in by the body to either be used as energy, or stored as body fat.

If this pill actually does as its manufacturers claim, it could mean that it could considerably reduce the number of calories that a dieter will take in from having consumed his or her foods in a day. As fats are typically very high in calories, by blocking a certain percentage of the total that is eaten from being used as energy (immediate or stored) it can help to keep caloric intake under control without having to sacrifice favorite foods.

However, the Accuslim Fat Blocker official website did not, at the time of this review, include the percentage of fat that will actually be blocked from being absorbed.

The website indicated that Liposan Ultra: Chitosan and vitamin C were the ingredients in the formula. Those two ingredients are all that makes up the product. Chitosan is a substance that is obtained from the shells of seafood such as crab and shrimp. According to the manufacturer, this substance is able to surround the fat that is consumed in the form of food, stopping it from being absorbed by the body, allowing the fat to progress right through the digestive system without being absorbed.

There are a number of studies that suggest that this claim may be true, though not to the point that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the substance for this purpose. The FDA feels strongly enough about this fact that it contacted eVitamins.com in 2004 with regards to two products that contained chitosan. The claims associated with those products were that they would bind to fat and therefore make it easier for users to lose weight. According to the FDA, there was inadequate scientific data to support these claims.

The manufacturers of Accuslim Fat Blocker claim that its product is easier to absorb than other supplements containing chitosan, so that it can be taken at mealtime without having to wait 30 minutes to an hour in advance. No link or reference to clinical or scientific research trials are made to indicate that this claim is true.
